Artillery Win City of London Clean City Award
Artillery Architecture and Interior Design was announced as Platinum Award winner of the City of London’s Clean City Awards Scheme. Gaining a special commendation, Artillery was presented with the award at the annual ceremony in Mansion House EC4 having been selected from over 1,700 sites within the City.Chosen for its innovative and environmentally conscious waste management programme, Artillery who also won awards in 2004, 2005 and 2008, further demonstrated their commitment through a variety of enhanced recycling and waste minimisation initiatives. Recent schemes to reduce waste have included donating unwanted stationary to charities, sending furniture for reuse in Ghana and the donation of leftover samples to design schools in the London area. Moreover, Artillery has also invested in an office wormery in order to reduce waste from its organic waste, making compost for its staff to take home and use. Artillery’s ability to improve their own office environment, whilst extending their influence to project work and other companies was key to their success.
The award scheme, launched in 1994, aims to raise the profile of effective waste management by recognising and rewarding good practice. Artillery faced tough competition from a variety of larger companies.
